A nice large cabinet size Amethyst with Hematite inclusion specimen. This one is from Panorama Mine, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada, and the size is 12 x 11 x 5 cm and most crystal points are around 0.8 cm. Thunder Bay Amethyst has been known since the 19th Century, and it is remarkable for its variety, it occurs in all shades of purple from pale to deep, it is often further colored by inclusion due to Hematite, and sometimes phantoms are found. This one has top luster, nice Hematite inclusion and a few phantoms, there are some damage.
