The White Pine mine was the very last commercial copper mine
operating in Michigan. This mine produced nearly a third of the total
copper production of the area over its long years of history. Some of the most unique and rarest of the crystalline silver
specimens ever found in the northern Michigan Copper Country have come from this mine.
