While Pallasites are extremely rare, Glorieta Mountain is rarer still because it is chemically and morphologically anomalous – it’s loaded with sulfide inclusions – which compelled researchers to classify Glorieta as its own sub-type. This specimen features the signature sulfide inclusions, along with crystals of the gem version of Olivine: Peridot (birthstone of August). This is a superb example and notable addition to any serious collection of meteorites.
