The crystal is a smoky honey-gold colour and appears double-terminated or
nearly so, with a bright point at one end and a second point or termination
at the other. There are a rough dark area/base on one end, internal phantoms
and veils, and a small crystal attached on one face. It is a natural specimen
with the usual small dings and rough spots for the locality; please see all
photos, including the caliper shots.

About the colour: most citrine on the market is heat-treated amethyst.
Hallelujah Junction (Petersen Mountain) is a well-documented locality for
natural citrine and smoky quartz, known for its scepters and smoky crystals
with golden citrine caps. This piece is sold as natural citrine per the
dealer label (Leonard Crystals, Crystal Tips Mine). We have not independently
tested it for treatment.

Folklore and metaphysical notes (for interest only, not medical or factual
claims): citrine is traditionally called a stone of abundance, joy and
prosperity, the “merchant’s stone”, and smoky citrine is said to
pair that sunny energy with grounding. It is a November birthstone.
