A great cabinet specimen of deep burgundy Spessartine Garnets over a white Albite Feldspar matrix in association with translucent clear Quartz crystals. From the Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, it measures 10.5 x 7.5 x 4.8 cm overall, and the main Spessartine crystal is a semi-equant rhombic dodecahedron 2.1 x 1.8 x 1.6 cm in size. There are many other Spessartine crystals between 0.1 and 0.8 cm sprinkled across the specimen, and the clear Quartz crystals are from 0.5 x 0.5 cm to 2 x 1 cm in size. Overall a very nice specimen with little damage.
