A sharp specimen, cut and polished on both sides, of banded Sphalerite, Galena, and Marcasite, colloquially termed ‘Schalenblende’, from the Olkusz Mine, Malopolskie, Poland . It is believed to have formed by relatively rapid crystallization of a low temperature sulfide gel (gel: colloidal dispersion).
Measures 2.73 x 1.59 x 0.26 inches, 6.9 x 4 x 0.7 cm.
