A beautiful 2.3 g. specimen of gemmy green Moldavite from the Czech Republic.
Moldavite is a natural glass (tektite) that formed in the heat of an asteroid impact. This event occurred about 15 million years ago, and a splatter of hot glass formed a strewn field across central Europe, most notably the Moldau Valley in the Czech Republic.
Measures 0.88 x 0.54 x 0.35 inches, 2.3 x 1.4 x 0.9 cm.
