Super nice, iridescent Chalcopyrite on Calcite from a limited find in China a few years ago (about 2015). This specimen is from Daye Mine, Hubei Province, China and it is 5 x 5 x 5 cm in size, the main Calcite crystal is 3 x 1.8 on bottom to 0.2 cm on tip. A heavy dusting of sparkling, multicolored iridescent, <0.5mm Chalcopyrite crystals cover barely discernible, gray-white to white Calcite scalenohedron in a very attractive grouping. The color of the peacock iridescence are like a kaleidoscope and range from scintillating orange to yellow to green and then red and blue. There is not damage to it, only contact areas on the side. This specimen is really great, much nicer than shown on photos.
BRAZARTE, worldwide fine minerals specimens since 1998.
