FLUORITE, Colorado, USA (LCM-6)
This Fluorite comes from the Black Valley Claim in southern Jefferson County, Colorado. The Mine is within the Pikes Peak Batholith, making this specimen over a billion years old, so intact crystals such as this are very rare. The color and crystal habit is also very rare, with most similar specimens exhibiting several layers of growth and some color zoning. This piece has clear and purple cubes overgrown by green cube-octahedrons with a fine purple coating.
