Eggers Lapidary, originated from Eugene Eggers in 1972. Being his house and his business, he kept it relatively small until growing into what we have now. As he aged, Mr. Eggers’ daughter Joanne started helping out in the shop, and eventually ran the business until June 1, 2015 with her husband Julian. They all three, created a universal workshop with all the equipment and machinery to continue the lapidary work and also brought in years’ worth of materials to work with.
As of June 1, 2015, Eggers Lapidary is now owned by Scott Moses.
Scott has been a customer at the lapidary for over thirty years, owning the lapidary has been not just a gift, but a wonderful atmosphere to continue keeping alive. We currently are running multiple saws and polishing pans, to continue flat lap polishing projects, and we also have hand polishing done through our Titan unit. We do basic jewelry repair for necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. If there is ever a project we feel we can’t take on, we will let you know and hopefully be able to guide you into the right hands.
Scott Moses is a certified Gemologist from GIA, and has a passion for gem and minerals like no other. You can tell right off the bat that this is the guy to ask some questions. He loves to rock-hound when the weather is nice (don’t we all!), and loves listening to his music loud with some candles lit.
Scott has an incredible team of three individuals helping him run the lapidary, the projects, and more.
Jacob Polack is our Main Manager, Rock Slabbing, Polishing Machine of Eggers Lapidary. Previously, Jacob was a seafood monger and manager in the Highlands. Besides gems and minerals, he has a passion for food and bringing something great to the table.
Eric Weiland is our A+ photographer, Crystal Reiki Healing Metaphysical Guru, and Co-Manages the shop with us here on his days off. Eric is an extraordinary being, bringing Crystal Resonance healing to others in this world and hoping for others to unveil the potential they hold within. Being a self-made photographer for over 10 years, he is able to capture the beauty of life in angles and ways others may not.
Taylor Coghlan is our Assistant Manager, currently runs internet and social media outlets, manages communications and is usually up front assisting the customers. In her free time, Taylor loves to practice Bowspring, which is relatively new branch off of Alignment Yoga. She also loves music, ranging from Thelonious Monk, all the way to Metallica!
We all have our own quirks, our own likings, and our own way of lapidary work. All of us are more than happy to assist anyone with any question big or small. We are very knowledgeable with the gem and mineral world, and we love to share it with others.
